Road to RSNA 2010; radiology and meaningful use; PACS and efficiency

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

By now you've (hopefully) started planning your agenda for RSNA 2010, coming up later this month in Chicago. To help you decide what to do and where to go, we're pleased to announce the 2010 installment of Road to RSNA, AuntMinnie.com's annual preview of radiology's showcase conference.

For the next two weeks, we'll be bringing you modality-by-modality previews of some of the most important scientific sessions taking place at McCormick Place. You'll find a brief overview of each presentation, as well as the key information -- session number, time, and room number -- that you'll need to plan efficiently.

We're kicking things off with PACS and MRI: To visit our PACS section, just click here, and for our MRI preview, click here. Remember, you can always visit the entire Road to RSNA section by going to road.auntminnie.com.

Radiology and meaningful use

In other news, radiology professionals in the U.S. are beginning to realize that they're eligible for federal stimulus funding for the use of healthcare IT -- as long as they can demonstrate "meaningful use."

We touch on how radiology can demonstrate meaningful use in a presentation in our PACS in an Age of Change virtual conference on November 17. In the presentation, Keith Dreyer, DO, PhD, from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, will discuss how radiologists and imaging facilities can become eligible for thousands of dollars in meaningful use funding. PACS and efficiency

In another virtual conference presentation, Jay Patti, MD, of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates in North Carolina, will discuss how you can use PACS to improve the efficiency of your high-volume radiology practice. It's an important consideration, especially in today's environment of reimbursement pressure and heightened competition. Learn more by clicking here.

Get more details about other presentations in our virtual conference -- as well as how you can win valuable prizes for participating -- by going to pacschange.auntminnie.com. And be sure to join us on November 17!
