Software developer ETIAM has debuted its Secure Medical Networking (SMN) service.
SMN provides a cloud-based connectivity platform for sharing images with other institutions, according to the Cambridge, MA-based firm. Features include secure, point-to-point connectivity using the cloud service; the ability for users to continue with their existing diagnostic and other DICOM tools; scalable levels of connectivity; and optimized electronic study transfers, ETIAM said.
The software provides for complete patient data exchange including DICOM images, forms, documents, reports, still images, and motion video, according to the vendor. SMN has already been used by the National Cancer Research Network for more than three years, as well as by more than 100 hospitals in six regions of France, ETIAM said.
