PACS developer New Mexico Software has released its XR-Express (XR-EX) application for use on Apple's iPad.
XR-EX allows doctors to view medical images over the Internet, according to the Albuquerque, NM-based firm. Users can print to any ePrint wireless printer and provide a one-time login to clinicians to see the results of radiology and cardiology exams, New Mexico Software said.
The software captures medical images as high-resolution DICOM digital files, streams the images, tags them with patient information, and stores them for retrieval, the company said. XR-EX can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for free.
