EOS Imaging has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its sterEOS 3D orthopedic imaging workstation for use in lower limb applications for patients 15 years of age and older.
The sterEOS workstation can create a 3D rendering of a patient's skeletal anatomy within seconds, according to the Cambridge, MA, company. It produces a large-size, 3D, weight-bearing image designed to enable superior pre- and postoperative surgical planning at a much lower irradiation level than with a 3D CT scan.
