Carestream Health will conduct prelaunch testing of the new Intel Xeon processor E7 in its medical image management, archiving, and distribution systems.
The tests will indicate whether the new high-performance processors can help Carestream Health's PACS and SuperPACS architecture deliver access to a larger number of users per server.
The new processors also may help healthcare providers reduce operating expenses by minimizing the number of servers required for data-intensive PACS applications.
