Peridot debuts new ultrasound software

Ultrasound software developer Peridot Technologies has introduced version 2.0 of its Sonovision ultrasound workstation software.

The new release adds DICOM file conversion capability, secure saving to a local database, video recording, support for high-definition images, and video capturing through HDMI and DVI ports on imaging modalities, according to the company.

Peridot has also released its Easy DICOM image viewer for Windows Phone 7 devices, which enables physicians to search and retrieve images from their PACS server. It's currently available for free on the Windows Phone 7 marketplace and is intended for testing and reference only, Peridot said.

Featuring multiple workstation offerings with different hardware and software configurations, Peridot's software is available to medical imaging labs for reference use only, and also for animal clinics, veterinary hospitals, and research institutes, according to the firm.
