Fueled by its acquisition of Amicas and sales of its DICOM toolkit and eFilm Workstation software, healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare achieved record revenue and profitability in its first quarter (end-March 31).
Revenue more than doubled to $52.7 million in the first quarter, compared with $20 million in the first quarter of 2010. The company also posted net income of $5.8 million, compared with a net loss of $3.8 million in the same quarter of 2010.
