For more than a decade, the PACSman (aka Michael J. Cannavo of Image Management Consultants) has been a regular contributor to AuntMinnie.com's PACS Digital Community, sharing his perspective, advice, and sometimes controversial opinions in his inimitable style.
But all good things must end. After 28 years as an independent PACS consultant, Mike has decided to join a PACS vendor and will no longer be able to continue his role as the PACSman.
A regular contributor from the earliest days of AuntMinnie.com, Mike's articles have brought a wealth of new insights to our members. His popular Exploring PACS Secrets series ran from 2004 to 2008 in 20 installments. More recently, his well-read Building a Better PACS columns offered his unique perspectives on important issues in digital image management.
In addition to his columns, Mike's lighthearted and always-entertaining annual PACSman Awards from the RSNA meeting has been a must-read for PACS enthusiasts. And he's been a regular presence in our PACS Forum.
Before he takes his new corporate position, however, Mike has produced one last edition of Building a Better PACS. In a fitting finale to the series, he shares the lessons he's learned from nearly three decades as a PACS consultant.
