Imaging toolkit development LEAD Technologies has released a new software version of LEADtools.
Version 17.5 includes new features and upgrades for its medical imaging engine, document imaging engine, multimedia imaging engine, and raster and vector imaging engines.
The medical image viewer has new image display options and functions, annotations, and synchronization tools. The medical 3D engine now supports curved multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), and the DICOM libraries support additional transfer syntaxes, including JPEG-LS.
The document imaging engine includes a new advanced PDF reader, a redesigned barcode interface, network support for a virtual printer, and a faster OCR Advantage engine that supports 32 languages.
Version 17.5 also contains tools to create cloud-based, distributed computing applications. Developers can create a wide variety of distributed, grid, or parallel computing applications, according to the company.
