Medical informatics firm TeraMedica is launching a new medical archiving platform that's based on hardware and software from computer giant IBM.
The platform, developed as part of a collaboration between TeraMedica, IBM, and Avnet Technology Solutions, is able to manage from 25,000 to 10 million medical image procedures annually. It combines TeraMedica's Evercore total lifecycle management product suite with IBM's information archive and scale-out network-attached storage (SONAS) platform.
The new "bundled" approach allows Avnet resellers to provide customers with a turnkey system with TeraMedica's Evercore running on IBM's Information Archive or SONAS storage platform. In addition, Avnet will provide help-desk services for the offering, providing a point of contact for customers.
