A new report from physician job recruitment firm Jackson & Coker found that 24% of radiologists use smartphones, other mobile computing devices, and medical apps in their everyday medical practice.
Overall, four out of five physicians use smartphone technology in their customary everyday practice, according to the firm. Tech-savvy physicians, especially recent graduates, increasingly rely on digital and Internet-based tools to communicate with patients and improve medical outcomes, according to Jackson & Coker President Sandra Garrett.
Radiologists were at about the middle of the pack, with emergency room physicians leading the way at 40% and clinical pathologists reporting the lowest usage, at 16%.
