Ultrasound vendor Ultrasonix Medical plans to introduce its SonixHub Community software platform at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) meeting being held October 15-18 in San Francisco.
SonixHub Community manages credentialing, billing, and ultrasound images on an integrated software platform, according to Ultrasonix. It will be available in mid-November and will be free for up to 100 users per client.
The company originally developed SonixHub software to collect, store, grade, and report on the studies performed by emergency physicians learning to perform ultrasound examinations. The software has been designed to meet the standards defined by the ACEP for credentialing, quality assurance, and training, Ultrasonix said. SonixHub Community has all the features of the original enterprise version.
SonixHub is currently installed at more than 25 sites that also use the company's SonixTouch and SonixTablet ultrasound systems. Ultrasonix is offering SonixHub Community to support more ultrasound education and training programs, and the firm will launch an online support forum to help users interact with each other and offer product feedback to Ultrasonix staff, the firm said.
In other news, the company is introducing the SonixTablet for point-of-care ultrasound guidance at the upcoming 2011 American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) conference in Chicago. SonixTablet now includes the company's SonixGPS ultrasound guidance technology, which helps predict and see the needle’s trajectory during invasive procedures, according to Ultrasonix.
