Carestream Health has launched a new business intelligence and reporting dashboard, Vue Beyond for Radiology, to give radiology administrators a better look at workflow in their departments.
Vue Beyond shows a real-time queue of studies waiting for radiology reports, and it also displays other metrics such as report turnaround time per radiologist and productivity levels for each member of the radiology department, Carestream said.
The ability to see these metrics at a glance helps administrators detect any roadblocks in the radiology workflow, the company added.
Without automated tools, long hours are required to create reports showing overall productivity and utilization in the department, Carestream said. Vue Beyond calculates study volumes, modality usage, patient type, and notification of critical results, and it has a single Web-based point of access for managing multiple sites.
Vue Beyond is being offered as a module that can be added to Carestream's RIS and PACS support. It will also support platforms from other vendors, according to the company.
Carestream is also rolling out new features for its Vue Motion vendor-neutral image viewer. The new features include the display of current and prior images side by side and the ability for clinicians to input order notes to the exam. The capabilities are designed to facilitate collaboration between referring physicians, specialists, and other clinicians, according to the company.
