PACS vendor Medweb will test mobile health technologies in the 2012 Research and Experimentation for Local and International Emergency and First Responders (RELIEF) exercise, cohosted by the U.S. National Defense University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
The company will conduct operational testing of an integrated mobile-based patient registration system and field-deployable digital exam kit at RELIEF, which is being held August 13-17 at McMillan Airfield on Marine Corps Camp Roberts in Paso Robles, CA.
The tools are designed to equip first responders with devices and associated image and data transmission capabilities to facilitate more rapid and effective tracking and triage of casualties, according to the firm. Medweb said it would also demonstrate a portable, solar-powered microcellular mesh network architecture in partnership with Range Networks.
