PACS firm Sectra enjoyed increased net sales and operating profit in the company's third fiscal quarter (end-January 31).
In the third quarter, Sectra's net sales increased 4.6% to 205.2 million kronor ($32.1 million U.S.), compared with 196.1 million kronor ($29.4 million U.S.) in the same quarter of 2012. Operating profit increased 290% to 21.1 million kronor ($3.3 million U.S.), compared with 5.4 million kronor ($810,000 U.S.) in the same quarter a year ago.
For the nine-month period, Sectra's net sales rose 2% to 568.9 million kronor ($89 million U.S.), compared with 554.6 million kronor ($83.2 million U.S.) in the same period of last fiscal year.
Nine-month operating profit declined by 15%, from 56.7 million kronor ($8.9 million U.S.) to 48.2 million kronor ($7.5 million U.S.). However, excluding the nonrecurring item of Sectra's sale of its MicroDose business, the company's operating profit increased 52%, from 31.7 million kronor ($4.7 million U.S.) to 48.2 million kronor ($7.5 million U.S.).
