Market research firm KLAS found that while healthcare users of cloud computing services give the technology and its vendors high marks, two-thirds of noncloud users interviewed for a new report say security and control are concerns.
Specifically, nonusers stated that concern about security was the primary reason they had not adopted cloud computing technology for their healthcare applications. Their comments, and those of cloud users, are discussed in a new report.
Concerns about uptime and reliability were also expressed by 40% of nonusers. Seventeen percent were concerned about loss of control. By comparison, users of the cloud technology gave it a satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5.
The report also describes the evolution and adoption of cloud computing in healthcare. It rates vendor performance, focusing on the healthcare IT services of Allscripts, Cerner, and Siemens Healthcare.
