AT&T has landed two installations of its cloud-based platform for managing and storing medical images.
Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and Baptist Health System in Birmingham, AL, installed the AT&T Medical Imaging and Information Management product to manage their images, according to the company.
At Henry Ford, the system's Henry Ford Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) rolled out the AT&T platform to give cardiologists at eight locations real-time access to a single cloud-based repository of their patients' medical images. The institute generates 25,000 cardiac images each year.
At Baptist Health, physicians are using the AT&T platform with a mobile diagnostic viewer to access medical images in the AT&T cloud. Referring physicians can review patient images stored in a vendor-neutral format, and physicians in the system can also use their tablet or smartphone to access and diagnose patients.
