The American College of Radiology (ACR) has published a white paper on teleradiology practice to help radiology groups navigate the opportunities and challenges of teleradiology and to ensure that patients remain at the core of care provided by radiologists.
Produced by the ACR's Task Force on Teleradiology Practice and published online May 20 in the Journal of the American College of Radiology, the white paper features best-practice guidelines for the practice of teleradiology.
Specifically, the white paper provides recommendations for teleradiologists, teleradiologist work environments, interpretive services, and payment and regulatory considerations. It also offers guidance on practical and technology-specific considerations for radiology practice.
The task force also dispenses advice on dealing with competitive market forces and gives recommendations to the ACR for addressing the practice of teleradiology.
