Image and information management system developer Medical Insight has unwrapped version 5.0 of its EasyViz PACS software.
EasyViz 5.0 features new diagnostic tools such as "crosshair" functionality designed to provide fast navigation of complex MRI exams, according to the Danish firm. Medical Insight said it has also included a tool to enable radiologists to more efficiently perform measurements according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) when evaluating the response of solid tumors to cancer treatment.
In addition, EasyViz 5.0 adds new functionality to allow PACS administrators to control user privileges more tightly, Medical Insight said.
Medical Insight has also debuted EasyViz Enterprise Web, a zero-footprint enterprise image viewer. Enterprise Web provides radiologists and clinicians with access to images through a standard Web browser.
Three Danish institutions (University College of Northern Denmark, University College Lillebælt, and Metropolitan University College) are the first customers to deploy Enterprise Web, Medical Insight said.
