Radiology services provider Radisphere said that a new Florida law enables remote teleradiology interpretation of radiology studies for Medicaid patients in the state.
The legislation, HB 939, authorizes the state's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to enroll out-of-state healthcare providers in the Medicaid program if the providers are actively licensed Florida physicians who interpret diagnostic testing results through telecommunications and information technology from a distance, Radisphere said.
Prior to the enactment of HB 939, Radisphere and other radiology service providers could not enroll out-of-state radiologists in the Florida Medicaid program, the company said.
