Teleradiology services provider Virtual Radiologic (vRad) has received its 11th U.S. patent.
U.S. Patent No. 8,515,778 further enhances vRad's patent portfolio covering its teleradiology image processing and workflow system, and it includes claims directed to the assignment of medical diagnostic imaging evaluation orders, according to the company. vRad said that two additional patent applications have been allowed and are expected to be issued later this year.
The firm is currently involved in patent litigation against software developer Tandem Radiology and several of its customers, charging the company with infringing on its patents for teleradiology software.
