OneMedNet has expanded its Beam medical image sharing network to healthcare organizations across the U.S.
Beam is a peer-to-peer network that can provide secure sharing of medical images without a virtual private network connection. It is most commonly used to transfer images from one hospital to another for trauma patients, and for DICOM and non-DICOM image transfer for patient referrals, prior exam comparisons, and consultations with specialists, according to OneMedNet.
The following are new subscribers to the Beam network:
- The Everett Clinic in Washington state
- Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital, and Methodist HealthWest, all in metropolitan Omaha, NE
- Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA
- Straub Clinic and Hospital in Honolulu
