Cloud-based imaging platform developer DICOM Grid has launched DG ImageShare, a Web-based service that offers a unified communication platform for medical image sharing to participants in the RSNA Image Share project.
The service allows patients and providers to access, view, and share medical images and other records online. In the secure system, patients can access copies of their medical images and keep them in online personal health record (PHR) accounts. A three-step process guides patients through account creation. Once an account is setup, patients can log in at any time to upload and view exams and share imaging information with specialists. Providers can use the platform to retrieve patient exams.
The RSNA Image Share project, funded by the U.S. National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), is designed to help patients take control of their medical images and reports.
DG ImageShare is now available to all U.S.-based medical centers and patients enrolled in the RSNA Image Share project.
