Carestream Health plans to highlight several new products at this year's RSNA annual meeting.
The company will show a new generation of its Vue PACS platform designed to enhance productivity by embedding access to key image data using links within the radiology report, which merges images into the reporting workflow.
In addition, the work-in-progress version of Vue PACS includes a teleradiology module designed to give remote radiologists access to prior exams and automatically send radiology reports to the requesting facility without requiring significant investment by healthcare facilities or radiology/teleradiology groups.
New image acquisition software for the company's computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems will also be on display, including IHE Dose Reporting and a bone suppression feature. The software is designed to create a companion image to suppress the appearance of posterior ribs and clavicles while enhancing the visualization of soft tissue in the chest. It is pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
There is also a new generation of Carestream's Vue RIS software that supports new features to address stage 2 meaningful use and new ICD-10 codes in the U.S. The work-in-progress software features integrated RIS/PACS reporting to expedite physician access to patient information and images.
Carestream will also showcase work-in-progress enhancements to its digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) module, including the display of DICOM-compliant 2D synthetic views calculated from the 3D dataset.
