RIS/PACS firm Novarad has debuted its NovaCardio ECG software and NovaRIS at RSNA 2013 in Chicago.
NovaCardio ECG integrates with cardiac PACS and cardiovascular information systems (CPACS/CVIS) to enable digital ECG reading, annotation, manipulation, storage, and easy reporting, Novarad said.
NovaCardio ECG software alters machine-generated diagnostic text as needed, automates movement to the next study, and auto signs, saves, and distributes. It also features multiple vertical and horizontal calipers, and enables display by rhythm or single beat and comparison with prior studies. The software supports patient CD or hard-copy printouts, all DICOM ECG outputs from 12- and 15-lead carts, and bedside devices, Novarad said.
NovaCardio interfaces to electronic health records (EHR) systems, hospital information systems (HIS), PACS, and other HL7- and DICOM-compliant systems.
The company also launched NovaRIS, a certified RIS/EHR system that meets meaningful use criteria. NovaRIS, first certified as an ambulatory EHR module in July 2012, is now fully integrated with a complete, Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Testing and Certification Body-certified EHR for ambulatory practice settings.
For imaging centers, the required patient information is captured during the patient scheduling or check-in process, and meaningful use audit reports are made accessible through the reports area of NovaRIS. The RIS remains the primary workflow that triggers the integrated EHR information capture and denominator tracking, Novarad said.
