Carestream to highlight PACS upgrades at HIMSS

Carestream Health plans to showcase work-in-progress PACS upgrades at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2014 meeting.

The work-in-progress updates include new versions of Carestream Vue PACS and Vue Vendor Neutral Archive with a Windows environment and 64-bit Intel Xeon servers, according to Carestream. The new 64-bit PACS architecture will increase the speed of server and client operations, expedite the availability and reading of large 3D imaging studies, and serve as an enhanced infrastructure for server-side rendering and pay-per-use cloud services.

The company is also upgrading its Vue Beyond business intelligence and reporting dashboard, Vue Motion image viewer, and MyVue patient portal to interact with the new 64-bit PACS. This new architecture will also be used for Carestream's cloud-based portfolio, including Vue Cloud PACS and Vue Cloud Archive.
