The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) said that beginning March 5 it will open up scheduling for Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) tests at dates and times that are convenient to students.
The easier scheduling options come at a time when ABII and its CIIP certification are experiencing stable growth and acceptance by the industry, ABII said, noting that 1,000 informatics professionals have received their CIIP certification in the past five years.
But until now, testing was conducted twice a year on an "event" basis, said ABII, which was founded in 2007 by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
ABII said it partners with more than 200 VUE professional centers to administer the CIIP test. For now, students can create user accounts on ABII's website and complete the qualifications process. Then, beginning March 5 they will be able to complete an application for certification.
