Agfa HealthCare is launching new mobile and Web-capture technology for its Imaging Clinical Information System (ICIS) at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting.
The technology extends Agfa's ICIS interoperable enterprise imaging platform to mobile image capture devices, including Apple's iPhone and iPad and Google Android mobile digital devices, according to the company.
ICIS Mobile and Web Capture enable physicians, caregivers, and patients to publish medical images from mobile and Web-based devices to a securely indexed entry within a patient's electronic health record (EHR), Agfa said.
In other news, Agfa has won a contract to be the technical sponsor of the mobile horse vet clinic for the annual Longines Global Champions Tour show-jumping series.
As part of this sponsorship, Agfa's CR 15-X digitizer and dedicated Equine DR 35 wireless digital detector will be used by the "Horse Ambulance Group" to screen and care for the horses participating in the tour, according to Agfa.
