Saudi Arabia's King Fahad Medical City, the country's largest medical center, has won an award for its installation of patient bedside entertainment terminals that use displays from Barco.
King Fahad Medical City won the Hospital Build and Infrastructure Award at a trade fair in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for its installation of CareConnex terminals from Hospedia. The terminals consist of 18.5-inch widescreen displays, mounting arms, back-office systems, and interactive patient care software that offers both communication and entertainment services to patients while providing hospital staff with clinical access.
The software is customized to meet patient needs with features such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and access to HIS and other networked hospital systems, Barco said. Patients can use the interface to watch TV, talk on the phone, and surf the Internet.
