NEC Display Solutions of America announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared its new 30-inch MultiSync MD302C6 LCD wide-screen display for diagnostic review.
The 6-megapixel (MP) display with LED backlight is designed to provide grayscale reproduction and wide viewing angles, NEC said. The monitor's 16-bit lookup table provides 1,024 levels of gray out of a palette of 4,096, when using a 10-bit DisplayPort connection.
The monitor also includes calibration to the DICOM Grayscale Standard Display Function (GSDF) for luminance and an integrated front sensor that monitors and adjusts brightness to maintain the factory DICOM GSDF calibration.
MD302C6 also has dual DisplayPort and DVI-D inputs, allowing it to function as a drop-in replacement for dual 3-MP color diagnostic displays, the firm said.
The monitor also comes with NEC's GammaCompMD QA software.
