A decrease in radiological services revenue contributed to near flat revenue growth for telemedicine and PACS firm Net Medical Xpress in the first six months of 2014.
For the first six months, Net Medical Xpress had revenues of $2.45 million, up slightly from the $2.43 million reported in the same period of 2013. The company had a net loss of $76,000, compared with net income of $54,000 a year ago.
Growth in its specialist and services divisions was offset by slippage in radiological services due to a lower number of reads, according to the vendor. The biggest revenue shortfall was experienced in its staffing division, due to the loss of a major customer.
In its second quarter, Net Medical Xpress reported revenue of $1.17 million, down slightly from the $1.21 million booked in the same period last year. Net Medical Xpress had a second-quarter loss of $67,000, compared with profit of $1,000 in the second quarter of 2013.
