The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) are asking for volunteers to serve on a new joint workgroup on enterprise imaging.
The workgroup will provide a platform for sharing enterprise imaging strategies and create awareness that images are an essential part of the electronic health record, according to HIMSS and SIIM. Volunteers will help identify industry needs, provide education, support standards development, and develop practical resources for today's changing environment.
The workgroup is open to members of HIMSS or SIIM, including but not limited to clinical informaticists, radiologists, cardiologists, imaging vendors, IT professionals, certified imaging informatics professionals, and those interested in the broader specialty of enterprise imaging informatics, according to the societies.
Meetings will be held virtually, and volunteer time commitment is estimated at two to four hours per month. The initiative plans to hold an activity at the HIMSS 2015 meeting.
More information on the joint workgroup can be found here.
