PACS software developer DR Systems has been granted seven new U.S. patents.
The patents cover technology ranging from intelligent access of medical information to human-computer interaction and image viewing, DR systems said. Specifically, they cover systems and methods for retrieval of medical data; dual technique compression; a rules-based approach to transferring and/or viewing medical images; systems and methods for matching, naming, and displaying medical images; smart placement rules; customizable human-computer interaction behavior; and intelligent dynamic preloading and processing.
The additional seven patents bring the company's total to 23 patents to date, with another 30 patents pending.
