Display manufacturer Eizo is highlighting a new study that suggests its 8-megapixel (MP) display significantly improves reader efficiency over a multimonitor display configuration.
The University of Arizona study compared Eizo's 8-MP RadiForce RX850 with two 5-MP RadiForce GX540 monitors in terms of reader efficiency for mammography images.
The radiologists spent an average of 62.04 seconds viewing the single screen and 68.99 seconds viewing the dual screens -- constituting a seven-second reduction (about 10%) in overall time spent.
Having the images side by side makes it easier for the radiologist to take in more information, lead author Dr. Elizabeth Krupinski, PhD, said in a statement. Taking less time to render a diagnostic decision is a definite advantage, she added.
