PACS furniture provider RedRick Technologies has helped a Texas hospital implement its vision of a centralized radiology reading room described as a "ballroom" concept.
Radiologists in the department of pediatric radiology at Texas Children's Hospital wanted to create a centralized reading room that grouped a variety of radiology subspecialists in a single location. The project was led by Dr. George Bisset, chair of the pediatric radiology department.
RedRick worked with radiology staff at Texas Children's to address concerns about noise control and lighting, and it also provided ergonomic workspaces. RedRick and the hospital's radiologists believe the new space creates an environment where radiologists can work without the fatigue caused by repeated interruptions, and that it helps promote efficient interactions between radiology and clinical staff.
