RIS/PACS vendor eRAD will install its enterprise RIS, PACS, and speech recognition software in Florida.
The University MRI and Diagnostic Imaging Centers of Boca Raton, FL, selected eRAD's software to automate its business and clinical workflow management.
The implementation will take place in two phases to allow for a smooth transition, according to eRAD. PACS and integrated speech recognition are slated to go live the first week in January. The RIS portion of the project will follow two to three months later, after the university has fully adapted to the phase one changes.
The project also entails a significant data migration from the legacy RIS and PACS, in use for several years. When the project is fully implemented, the data will all be archived in the eRAD cloud so that referring physicians can access it via the eRAD portal, which only requires an Internet connection, the firm said.
