Advanced visualization and PACS firm Visage Imaging showcased new enhancements to its Visage Ease mobile application at last week's RSNA 2015 meeting in Chicago.
New work-in-progress features include fingerprint recognition and authentication via Apple's Touch ID technology; authorized users will be able to log into Visage Ease with their fingerprint without having to manually enter user-name and password combinations or saving their password within the application, according to the firm.
In addition, Visage has added multitasking support. Users of iPad Pro and iOS 9 can utilize Apple's Slide Over capability to open a second app without leaving Visage Ease, as well as a split-view function to have Visage Ease and another app open at the same time, Visage said.
Visage has also developed integrated barcode scanning capability, enabling users to scan patient barcodes to query and display all patient imaging studies available on the Visage 7 software.
In other Visage Ease news, the vendor has released version 1.7.2 of the software. Visage Ease 1.7.2 features a range of multiplanar reformatting (MPR) capabilities, allowing users to reformat cross-sectional imaging studies on the fly, Visage said.
