Advanced visualization firm Vital Images has launched a data migration service that it will offer to customers at no cost.
Scheduled to be featured at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting, the service will eliminate the data migration per terabyte fee, using an intelligent background data migration process, according to the company.
Vital Images is positioning the offering as a second-generation service that avoids some of the difficulties posed by first-generation data migration services. The new service will work in conjunction with other new products the company is releasing, such as its on-demand vendor-neutral archive (VNA) service.
