Fujifilm Medical Systems USA has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its Synapse 5 PACS software.
First showcased at RSNA 2015 in Chicago, the latest Synapse edition features a server-side, zero-download viewer, according to the vendor. Fuji customers will be able to upgrade their current PACS to Synapse 5, and commercial availability is expected in the second half of the year.
Fuji said it will highlight Synapse 5 at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2016 conference in Las Vegas.
