Japanese software developer Jiun has begun offering its SonicDICOM Media Viewer software for free.
SonicDICOM Media Viewer allows users to browse DICOM images available on a local environment (CD, DVD, etc.) using only a Web browser. The viewer includes features such as a studies list display, measuring functions, a series syncing function, and a DICOM tag information display.
In addition, with SonicDICOM, the media viewer can also be used as an auxiliary DICOM viewer, which can be attached via the DICOM directory (DICOMDIR) export function used to distribute DICOM data on CD or DVD, the firm said.
