PACS vendor ScImage plans to launch PicomSentry, a hardware appliance that allows users to more easily access the company's Picom365 enterprise PACS, at the upcoming American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting in Chicago.
PicomSentry can be remotely configured and replaces traditional server or gateway hardware, the company said. It allows the secure acquisition and transfer of DICOM and non-DICOM objects, patient studies, reports, and HL7 messaging to and from Picom365 cloud PACS software and the local site.
The device is protected with BitLocker hard-drive encryption to prevent the information from being compromised if it is lost or stolen, according to ScImage.
