The global vendor-neutral archive (VNA) and PACS market will grow at a 5.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to reach $4.1 billion U.S. (3.7 billion euros) in revenues by the end of 2021, according to a new report from market research firm Mordor Intelligence.
The growth will be spurred by increasing use of diagnostic imaging, which will result in more image data for archiving, the company said. Mordor said that barriers to market growth include concerns regarding the effects of long-term data availability on the decisions of service providers, a long product life cycle, and the dependency of VNA and PACS sales on capital equipment purchasing.
