Agfa HealthCare said it has received a new contract valued at up to $768 million as part of the Digital Imaging Network - PACS (DIN-PACS) IV project from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).
Including a five-year base period and a five-year option period, the new DIN-PACS IV contract encompasses departmental and enterprise imaging informatics technology, integration services, and support programs for U.S. federal agencies, according to the vendor. U.S. government healthcare providers can purchase these diagnostic imaging IT and related offerings from Agfa on demand, the company said.
Under the three previous DIN-PACS contracts, Agfa delivered more than $600 million in products and services for the DOD, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Justice, and other agencies requiring DIN-PACS products and services, according to the firm. The company has installed PACS technology at more than 200 DOD and VA medical treatment facilities, including 14 DOD/NATO sites in Europe, four of the VA's multifacility Veterans Integrated Service Networks, and more than 30 ships.
