Dicom Systems has won a contract from the Dental Information and Statistics Center (DISC) at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston for a vendor-neutral archive (VNA).
The company's Unifier Archive is designed to consolidate disparate imaging systems into one repository and provide enterprise-wide access to all medical images and medical records.
DISC plans to migrate more than 27 million dental exams from its current archive into the Dicom Systems VNA. Dicom Systems also will perform real-time reconciliation of new and existing records with the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) to ensure that up-to-date patient demographics are available in the VNA.
The Unifier Archive will also offer long-term storage without the need to reinvest in additional storage.
