NEC Display Solutions of America announced that it is discontinuing its diagnostic medical display business to focus instead on clinical review, operating theater, and administration displays, as well as digital signage and conferencing products.
However, the company will continue to support all of its diagnostic products through their warranty periods, including any updates to its GammaCompMD QA software, it said.
"While discontinuing future development in the medical diagnostic display market is a difficult decision, we are determined that now is the appropriate time to accelerate innovation in the markets where we deliver the greatest benefits and highest value," said President and CEO Todd Bouman in a statement.
