The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has granted Fujifilm Medical Systems USA's Synapse PACS line with authority to operate (ATO) on its networks.
In the past year, the DOD transitioned from its traditional process to a new risk management framework to evaluate technology and determine ATO status. The process contains thousands of changes and generally takes more than a year to complete. It integrates security and risk management activities into the system development life cycle and considers effectiveness, efficiency, and constraints due to applicable laws, directives, executive orders, policies, standards, or regulations.
The new ATO is valid until March 2020.
