Fujifilm Medical Systems USA has been awarded a new Digital Imaging Network - PACS (DIN-PACS) IV project from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Under the 10-year contract, U.S. government healthcare providers can purchase and install various technologies from the company's enterprise imaging product line, including Synapse 5 PACS, Synapse Mobility Enterprise Web Viewer, Synapse 3D, Synapse CV, and Synapse VNA, Fuji said. The deal is valued at a maximum of $768 million and includes a five-year base period and a five-year renewal option.
The vendor said that its technology will play a significant role in the government's transition to the new Military Health System (MHS) Genesis electronic health record (EHR) software, which will replace the current EHR software used by the DOD and the VA.
