LAS VEGAS - Attendance is up 4% as of the third day of this year's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting, compared with the same point at last year's meeting.
As of Thursday morning, total attendee registration for HIMSS 2018 stood at 43,536 attendees. That compares to 40,803 attendees for HIMSS 2017 in Orlando, FL.
Some 39% of professional attendees at HIMSS 2018 are healthcare providers, while 15.4% are consultants, 7.8% are payors or financial professionals, 5.3% are from government, and 32.5% are from other categories.
Breaking down HIMSS 2018 professional registration by job title, 29.9% are C-suite executives, 22.4% are IT professionals, 17.3% are senior management, 8.4% are sales and marketing professionals, 3.4% are academics, 2.8% are from government, 2.6% are clinicians, and 13.2% are categorized as "other."
