Teleradiology provider Virtual Radiologic (vRad), a subsidiary of national medical group Mednax, announced that Imad Nijim has been named as the company's new chief information officer (CIO).

Nijim has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare information systems, clinical applications, and enterprise image management. Prior to Mednax, Nijim was chief operating officer at Flywheel, a data management and analysis platform for neuroimaging and MRI researchers. He also previously held positions at Acuo Technologies and Lexmark Enterprise Software, where he focused on software implementation, systems integration, project management, and data services for hospitals and health systems.
In his new position, he will oversee the integration and interoperability of the radiology IT teams for vRad as well as Mednax, according to the firm.
