Hospital network Atrium Health of Charlotte, NC, has hired Dr. Rasu Shrestha of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) as its chief strategy officer.
Shrestha is a radiologist by training and has been chief innovation officer at UPMC for the past four and a half years, while serving as chief of the hospital's division of radiology informatics for the past 11 years.
At Atrium, Shrestha will lead enterprise strategy, including planning and tactical direction for the company's strategic road map going forward. Shrestha will also lead Atrium's renewed focus on innovation and will direct the launch of new healthcare inventions, discoveries, and ideas, according to the company.
Shrestha officially joins Atrium in February 2019.
